Buipewura invalidates appointment of Ibrahim Musah as fulani youth chief following agitations

Buipewura invalidates appointment of Ibrahim Musah as fulani youth chief following agitations

The Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area and Vice President of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, Buipewura Jinapor II has quashed the appointment of Ibrahim Musah Bure as Fulani Youth Chief.

Buipewura Jinapor II, made this known when he addressed the people of Buipe on matters of social concern in a press conference on Monday, 16th January, 2023, at his palace in Buipe.

Ibrahim Musah Bure's appointment as a Fulani Youth Chief of a community called Mande, suburb of Buipe some weeks ago sparked a lot of chaos among aggrieved youth who mounted several  demonstrations to get the appointing authority rescind his decision

Buipewura in his presser explained that the annulment of Ibrahim Musah Bure forms part of his commitment to ensuring lasting peace and tranquility in the buipe area.

The revered chief as part of measures to address challenging issues in the traditional area,constituted a Seven Member Committee, which included some members of the youth to come up with possible recommendations for implementation.

He stressed that the committee in conjunction with the District Security Council ( DISEC ) presented a roadmap for his consideration which he did not edit or alter, but wholeheartedly accepted the content of the recommendations and adopted it leading to the annulment of the earlier decision to enskin Ibrahim Musah Bure as mande Fulani Youth Chief.

After denouncing the position of Ibrahim Musah Bure as Fulani Youth Chief for Mande in the Buipe area, Buipewura said he was shocked to the bone to hear that some members of the youth group in connivance with none-indigenes went on a vandalism spree destroying and setting houses of people of Fulani extraction on fire.

He noted with concern, how some disgruntled elements are determined to derail the peace process and to also, ferment trouble in the Buipe area.

The chief pledged his commitment and determination to ensure peace,not only in Buipe area, but the entire Gonjaland, adding that,"I will continue with the implementation of the recommendations of the committee and will not allow any such barbaric acts to derail the peace process".

He however, called on the security agencies to ensure that criminal activities are isolated from traditional matters and that whoever is found capable in the heinous crime of arson faces the full rigors of the law.

The traditional ruler urged his subjects and the youth in particular to exercise restrain in the face of unprovoked aggression.

The Chairman of the Seven Member Committee, Danyanpewura Iddisah, said the committee in its findings has established that no land has been sold in bulk to any individual or the Fulani community in Buipe area.

He said the lands at the Mande suburb are available to individuals or group for development through the newly esnkinned Mandewura, Alhassan J.B. Abdulai.

New year's eve - Call for resolutions

 New year's eve - Call for resolutions

Columnist: Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham (AB)

Here cries the beacon of a New Year,

And nay,

here comes a new day;

A new day and God's will to bid thee goodbye 2022.

On the Eve at mass,

As the candles glow,

The glory of the Lord blows.

And here beacons the flow and cry of a New Year;

A cry that awakens the call for resolutions not revolutions;

A cry that decree thee holy heavens to crossover with a "build over" to build bridges;

To build bridges in our marriage and family life, To build bridges in our relationship,friendship and political life,

To build bridges in our financial, economic, social,racial and work life,

To build bridges in our national and community reconstruction and struggle.

For it's grace for our race, And we are in a raise in the face of 2023;

A grace and raise that blossoms and is wholesome above average.

Oh cry thee,

it's a dying year,

And the regrets are the sins and things that stole the happiness from another man;

It's the coming and going of seasons;

And 365 reasons to turn things around this time around.

We are good to set new goals,

And be bold to work on the past blows of life; Staying down after those blows is an error of grace that will erase our raise.

Oh thy holy glory!

See your children not in gory but deliver us from the sorrows and "sorry's" of life;

Keep us awashed,

When our minds go astray in sinful compromise for the vanities of the world;FORGIVE!

Cry and pray thee for divine grace,

Divine grace for the loved one's and lost one's in 2022,

For thy gave and took but 2023 will see us through; Not by our might,

For grace abounds in leaps and bounds.

We are champions,

So let's pop champagne; Not in pain but in God's gain we rain;

Let's stress out the stress,

And dress up the mind off distress for God's greatness again!

Let's look forward, revitalised and break cowards!

The year is long gone,

So let logic reign and let go along with it the pain of unforgiveness;

Salaga South MP offers educational scholarship worth Ghc100K to 125 students

The East Gonja Municipal Education Director, madam Christiana Maabo Donzun, lauded the Member of Parliament for the kind gesture and encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the support and study very hard.

But like the proverbial Oliver Twist, she used the opportunity to call for more of such support from the MP for the Municipality.

A representative of the Municipal Chief Executive, Wumbei Ibn Zakaria, who doubles as the Municipal Coordinating Director for the East Gonja Municipal Assembly said the decision by the lawmaker to support the students means she has positive plans for the constituency and students, urging the students to study hard and return home to serve the Municipality .

Madam Fatimah Ahmed,a first year Bachelor of Science Physician Assistant student at the University for Development Studies on behalf of all the  beneficiaries, thanked the MP for supporting their education and prayed for Allah to continue blessing her good works.
