Peter Nuhu secures 20 Feed Ghana Brigade appointments for West Gonja agric professionals
The Deputy National Coordinator of the Feed Ghana Programme, Mr. Peter Nuhu, has facilitated the appointment of 20 agricultural professionals from the West Gonja Municipality as Agricultural Extension Officers under the Feed Ghana Brigade.
The beneficiaries, drawn from various electoral areas within the Damongo Constituency, successfully completed intensive training at the Tesano Police Training School in Accra before graduating as Feed Ghana Brigadiers, ready to support the country's agricultural transformation agenda.
The newly appointed officers form part of 50 recruits selected from the Savannah Region and 500 Agricultural Extension Officers recruited from 275 constituencies across Ghana to strengthen agricultural extension service delivery.
As members of the Feed Ghana Brigade, the officers will work alongside the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) to provide technical support and extension services to farmers.
Their responsibilities will include promoting key government agricultural interventions such as backyard gardening, the NkokÉ” Nkitinkiti initiative, and school-based agricultural projects, among other productivity-enhancing programmes under the Feed Ghana Programme.
They will also be equipped with motorbikes, tablets, and receive monthly remuneration to facilitate their work.
The appointments represent a significant boost to agricultural development and youth employment in the West Gonja Municipality, while reinforcing government's commitment to modernising agriculture, improving food security, and supporting farming communities through strengthened extension services.
