King, people of Gonjaland prioritize steadfast development of John Mahama to superficial gestures, falsehood of Bawumia and NPP - Savannah NDC

King, people of Gonjaland prioritize steadfast development of John Mahama to superficial gestures, falsehood of Bawumia and NPP - Savannah NDC

The National Democratic Congress in the Savannah Region has said the King and people of the Gonja state will at all times prioritize the steadfast commitment to development consistently demonstrated by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, to the superficial gestures and persistent falsehoods about development exhibited by Dr. Bawumia and his political superiors.

According to leadership of the party, former president John Dramani Mahama, who is a royal of the Gonja Kingdom has offered diverse support to several Kings in Gonjaland, Northern Region and Ghana at large, including His Royal Majesty Naa Yiri Naa Bohagu Mahami without any grand ceremonies due to his understanding of the importance of culture, dignity, and respect for traditional authorities.

The NDC recounted the construction of a fence wall around the 15-acre Jakpa palace land, renovation and installation of equipment and furniture, ongoing construction of magnificent new palace and several donations made by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to the Gonja Kingdom without any grandstanding or publicity surrounding these endeavors.

In a news release copied to this writer, the Regional Secretary of the party, hon. Salisu Biuwurbi called on all Gonjalanders and Ghanaians to unite with the NDC in condemning the NPP's ongoing disregard and dishonor towards the esteemed Chieftaincy institution in Ghana, urging Dr. Bawumia to refrain from wasting the taxpayer's money on frivolous political ventures.

He admonished Dr. Bawumia to honor his promise of constructing the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs Complex in 18-months as indicated.

THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC) OF THE SAVANNAH REGION HELD A PRESS CONFERENCE TO TALK ABOUT THE ONGOING DISRESPECT SHOWN TO THE KING OF GONJALAND AND THE GONJA STATE BY THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) FLAGBEARER, HIS EXCELLENCY VICE PRESIDENT DR. MAHAMUDU BAWUMIA, AS WELL AS BY SOME DISOBEDIENT AND CONCEITED SONS OF THE LAND

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, Good Afternoon.

We have invited you here this afternoon to express our outmost disgust, lack of candour, the peak of cultural and traditional insensibility, and an open show of contempt, disrespect, and disdain to no less a person than his Royal Majesty, Jirah Yagbongwura Bikunuto Mbemah Soale Jewu I, one of the 5 revered kings in Ghana, and the entire Gonja State on the publication that the Vice President, His Excellency, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will be coming to Damongo tomorrow, May 15, 2024, to allegedly hand over a so-called renovated Jakpa Palace to Jirah, the Yagbongwura Bikunuto Mbemah Soale Jewu I.

This follows Dr. Bawumia's unsolicited offer to renovate the Jakpa Palace when he paid a courtesy call on the King on November 22, 2023, after the Manipulated NPP Presidential  election which choreographically settled on him as the flagbearer of his party, the NPP, on November 4, 2023.

FACTS

All present, permit me to run you through a brief background and fact-checking of the construction of the Jakpa Palace. The Jakpa Palace sits on 15 acres of land, comprising many buildings and structures. Around 1942–1943, the Jakpa Palace relocated to Damongo in the West Gonja District from its original location in Nyange, the ancient traditional capital of Gonja, approximately 5 kilometres from Sawla in the present Sawla Tuna Kalba District of the Savannah Region along the Damongo-Sawla Highway. This move followed the passing of Jirah Yagbongwura Singbung Lanyo Iddisah Soale, the last king of Gonjaland to reign from Nyange, the historic seat of Gonjaland. It is noteworthy to note that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the former President and NDC flagbearer, tarred the Damongo-Sawla Highway during his administration.

The newly relocated Palace, an imposing sandstone building, has housed seven Yagbongwuras, viz., Yagbongwura Awushi Ewuntomah, Yagbongwura Timu Braimah, Yagbongwura Kanyiti, Yagbongwura Be-Awuribe, Yagbongwura Aliadengi, Yagbonwura Boreyinche, and Yagbongwura Doshi Bawa Abudu, who passed away in 2010. Of the 10 Yagbonwuras who reigned after the Seat of Gonja moved to Damongo, only 3 of them have not lived in the stone-built palace. Yagbongwura Kurabaso Mahama Abutu lived in his own privately built house in Damongo and reigned from there till his demise.

Dear Members of the Press, It's important to note that the Assemblies of Gonjaland originally initiated the construction of the allegedly renovated structure in the year 2000, which Dr. Bawumia is purportedly coming to commission and potentially unveil a plaque with an inscription reading "Renovated by H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP Flagbearer, and commissioned this 15th day of May 2024 in the Presence of Yagbongwura Bikunuto Mbemah Soale Jewu I."

District Chief Executives (DCEs) under President Kuffour continued the construction of the structure after the NDC lost power, and NDC DCEs under the Mills/Mahama Administration completed it. It's noteworthy that since its completion, only one Yagbongwura, the late Jirah Yagbongwura Tuntumba Abukari Amanfo Jakpa Sulemana, has occupied the palace.

It will interest you to know that, during the late Yagbongwura Tuntumba's lifetime, Dr. Bawumia visited him at the new palace structure no fewer than 20 times, both as a running mate to Nana Addo and as Vice President. Yet, no offer was made to renovate or enhance the palace, not because it had deteriorated beyond habitation but because the late King, who passed away and was succeeded within 40 days by the new King, reigned and passed away in the second palace structure. The decision not to relocate to the palace has a traditional and customary significance that goes beyond mere aesthetics.

Given this information, members of the press, isn't it surprising that once again Dr. Bawumia intends to utilize taxpayers' money, especially amidst the current economic challenges exacerbated by his policies, under the pretext of commissioning the repainting of the 2nd Palace Structure? This initiative seems to be a feeble attempt to fulfill his unsolicited promise to the King during his visit on November 22, 2023.

To what extent does repainting the palace constitute renovation that justifies Dr. Bawumia's travel to Damongo for a commissioning ceremony? With all due respect, we must immediately halt Dr. Bawumia's whimsical behavior and the ongoing disrespect and disregard for the Jakpa Palace.

Let it be known today that, during the tenure of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, he emphatically erected a complete fence wall around the 15-acre palace land, without any pomp and pageantry.

Furthermore, under the leadership and tenure of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the family of the late King received support for renovations and the installation of equipment and furniture. However, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama carried out these efforts quietly, without any public fanfare. Similarly, the palace received donations of various machines and equipment without seeking publicity.

Additionally, the entire palace compound, previously covered in sand and gravel, received funding for paving by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. Despite these significant contributions, there was no grandstanding or publicity surrounding these endeavors.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we are cognizant of the diverse support that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama extended to several kings and paramount chiefs in Ghana and the Northern region specifically, including the King of Mamprugu, His Royal Majesty, Naa Yiri Naa Bohagu Mahami. His Excellency John Dramani Mahama provides these contributions and support without any grand ceremonies, a testament to his understanding of the importance of culture, dignity, and respect for traditional authorities. This is not because President Mahama himself comes from a royal lineage, but rather because it reflects his inherent values of honoring and dignifying all individuals, customs, institutions, and religions in Ghana.

Why doesn't Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia simply adopt the dignified demeanor of his elder brother, John Dramani Mahama, instead of embracing the negative traits of his boss, Nana Akuffo Addo?

THIS DISRESPECT TOWARDS THE KING OF GONJALAND AND THE GONJA STATE IS UNACCEPTABLE.

As you are all aware, just under two weeks ago, the mentor of Dr. Bawumia, Nana Akuffo Addo, attended the 1st Year Anniversary of the King and Overlord of Gonjaland, coinciding with the Annual Gonjaland Youth Congress and Guan Conference in Damongo. Despite being late to the event, Nana Akuffo Addo approached the King, Jirah Yagbongwura Bikunuto Mbemah Soale Jewu I, who was sitting in state, and disrespectfully demanded that the King stand up and greet him. Unsurprisingly, the King declined, signaling his disdain for the disrespectful request.

Nana Addo's response to the King's refusal was indicative of his displeasure. In a display of habitual anger and open arrogance, the president abruptly left the event, offering a flimsy excuse about needing to catch up with his helicopter, which he purportedly brought to Damongo. This blatant disregard for protocol and decorum is utterly disrespectful.

Members of the press, This disrespectful behavior, characterized by open arrogance, towards the Gonja state and its kings, as exhibited by Dr. Bawumia's mentor, Nana Addo, at the 1st Year Anniversary event, is not an isolated incident. Recall how Nana Addo deceived the late Yagbongwura Tuntumba Boressa Jakpa Sulemana in April 2020, promising that within eight months, piped water from the Yapei River would flow from the King's taps in Damongo. The late Yagbongwura even ordered his chiefs to accompany President Nana Addo to Damongo Central Town Football Field for a sod-cutting ceremony to kick-start the Damongo Water Project. However, the project has not progressed to date, and the sod-cutting ceremony merely served as a façade, lacking any genuine intention to initiate the project.

In August 2020, during Nana Addo's visit to the late King at Jakpa Palace, he shamelessly attributed the project's delay to the COVID-19 pandemic, despite being fully aware that the sod was cut during the peak of the pandemic.

Mimicking his boss's embarrassing attitude, it was Dr. Bawumia's turn to disrespect the Gonja state and its king. Dr. Bawumia visited Yagbongwura and convened a meeting with the Savannah Region House of Chiefs. After they were sworn in as members of the Regional House of Chiefs, Dr. Bawumia informed them that they would commence the immediate construction of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs Complex, promising an 18-month completion time. The respected paramount chiefs, regardless of their age and physical stamina, were led to the yard of the John Mahama Fufulso Road Contractors, a cleared and presentable site, where they were deceived into believing they were participating in a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the House of Chiefs Complex.

Less than 10 minutes after the chiefs left the site, they swiftly removed a proposed sketched drawing, mounted on plywood for the occasion, and it remained hidden until the 155th Regiment took over the site. The Chinese road contractors left behind the only sand at the site, and they arranged a few buckets to simulate the process of shovelling sand during the alleged sod-cutting.

Now, Dr. Bawumia is on the verge of disrespecting and dishonoring the Yagbongwura once more by falsely asserting that he renovated the Jakpa Palace, when in fact, he only supervised the painting of the 2nd Palace Structure. This is happening at the same time that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is constructing an iconic new building to house the King.

Allow me to reiterate, ladies and gentlemen of the press, that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has ceremoniously broken ground for the construction of a magnificent new palace, intended to serve as the residence of the Gonja King and symbolize the rich cultural heritage of the Gonja state. Sahelian architecture guides the design of this ambitious project, reflecting the Gonja people's origins in the Mande region near Mali. Of particular significance, the design draws inspiration from Timbuktu or Songhai, aiming to encapsulate the fascinating history of the Gonja people. Once completed, this grand palace, characterized by its Sahelian walls, will stand as a testament to the enduring legacy of Sumaila Ndewura Jakpa, the founder of the Gonja Kingdom.

It's evident that the King and people of the Gonja state prioritise a steadfast commitment to development, consistently demonstrated by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, rather than the superficial gestures and persistent falsehoods about development propagated by Dr. Bawumia and his superior.

Therefore, we urge Dr. Bawumia to refrain from wasting the taxpayer's money by abstaining from another instance of disrespect towards the King of Gonjaland and the Gonja state under the guise of commissioning the repainted Jakpa Palace.

Furthermore, we implore all Gonjalanders and all conscientious Ghanaians to unite with us in condemning the NPP's ongoing disregard and dishonor towards the esteemed chieftaincy institution in Ghana.

Thank you for the audience.

Salaga South MP rehabilitates and hands over abondoned Kalampor and Yahayili CHPS compounds

Salaga South MP rehabilitates and hands over abondoned Kalampor and Yahayili CHPS compounds

The Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency in the Savannah Region, Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah has handed over two fully furnished CHPS facilities to the East Gonja Municipal Health Services.

The CHPS compounds, located in Kalampor and Yahayili in the Salaga South Constituency were constructed by the erstwhile Mahama administration to expand access to primary health care in these areas, but remained abondoned by the NPP government upon assumption of power in 2016.

Several calls were made to the Member of Parliament during her 2020 campaign tours by the chiefs and people of the two communities to try and refurbish and operationalize the facilities should she emerge victorious.

In 2021, the Member of Parliament utilized her share of the MP's NHIA Fund to rehabilitate and procure medical equipment for the twin facilities which were under locks for more than four years.

Touched by the examplary gesture of the MP, the UK and Ireland Branch of the Gonjaland Youth Association augmented the effort of the MP by donating some medical supplies.

The two facilities at the time of commissioning were each furnished with admission beds, delivery beds, table top refrigerator for vaccine storage, drip stands, digital thermometers, B.P apparatus, Office chairs and tables, glucometers,32 inches LED television sets, PPEs and many more.

In addition, two brand new motorbikes were donated to the two facilities to aide in staff transport services.

In a brief address, the Member of Parliament described affectionately as the "Yaa Asantewa of Savannah Region," said the gesture forms part of her modest contribution towards improving access to quality healthcare and reducing maternal and infant mortality in the constituency.

She admonished the health workers to put up their very best in the service of the people, whilst pledging her continuous availability and support towards the delivery of quality healthcare in the municipality.

The Municipal Health Administrators, Mr. Alhassan Musah and Mr. Abdul Karim Ahat who represented the Municipal Health Director commended the continuous effort by the MP towards improving healthcare delivery in the area, urging residents to make good use of the facilities.

They reiterated the spirit of communal support towards improving the maintenance culture of the equipment and facilities to ensure equitable access to basic health care service for all.

Present also for the ceremony were Salaga South Constituency executives of the NDC, staff of the Ghana Health Service and staff from the office of the MP.

Akuffo-Addo's desperate attempt to disrupt Yagbonwura's 1st year anniversary celebration borne out of failed promises - Savannah NDC

Akuffo-Addo's desperate attempt to disrupt Yagbonwura's 1st year anniversary celebration borne out of failed promises - Savannah NDC

The communications bureau of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Savannah Region has accused president Akuffo-Addo of aggressively attempting to disrupt the First Year Anniversary Celebration of the King of Gonjaland alongside the 48th Annual Congress of the Gonjaland Youth Association due to the many unfulfilled promises his government made to the kingdom.

According to the Regional Communications Officer of the party, R.A Jalil in a pressure copied to this blogger, president Akuffo-Addo described ironically as "Jack Toronto" and his 'Driver's Mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia were simply afraid that Yagbonwura will demand answers for the many repeated failed promises made to the kingdom and hence the attempt to disrupt the twin celebrations by storming out of the durbar grounds unceremoniously with his NPP supporters.

Some of these unfulfilled promises he recounted included: the promise to construct a Regional House of Chiefs edifice ,the "almighty" Damongo water project, intentional neglect of maintenance work on the 147-Kilometer Sawla-Damongo-Fulfulso road, IDIF, IVID, Nursing School at Sawla, 20 Kilometers of Cocoa roads at Bole, Salaga District Hospital, the construction of the Daboya bridge among other unfulfilled promises.

According to him, the recent lamentations by the P.R.O of the Gonjaland Youth Association, Muftawu Habib about the misconduct of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and MP for Damongo Constituency, hon. Abu Jinapor has vindicated the long-standing believe of the NDC that the minister is the architect behind all the confusions and disrespect of his party to our chiefs, adding that, his days as Member of Parliament are numbered.

Read full statement below:

THE UNACCEPTABLE AND DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDE OF THE PRESIDENT H.E NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO ADDO AND HIS PARTY MEMBERS TO YAGBONWURA AND GONJALANDERS AT THE 48TH ANNUAL GLYA CONGRESS/ ONE-ANNIVERSARY OF JIRAH YGBONWURA SOALE BII-KUNUTO JEWU I

Esteemed members of the press,

I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you to today's press conference.

This press conference is of utmost importance due to the numerous instances of unacceptable behavior and ongoing misconduct by the NPP in the Savannah Region of Ghana.

As you are well aware, the entire Gonjaland community, both locally and internationally, including royalty and ordinary citizens, gathered at Damongo, the traditional and administrative center of Gonjaland, to participate in the 48th annual Gonjaland Congress and to show support for the Overlord and King of Gonjas as he celebrated his one-year anniversary of ascending to the revered throne of Jakpa.

The 2024 annual Gonjaland Youth Congress, which concluded on Saturday, April 27, 2024, witnessed one of the most disheartening moments in Gonjaland history as we once again witnessed President Akufo-Addo and the NPP's blatant disregard for the cherished chieftaincy institution in Ghana, particularly in the Savannah region.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press,

Through this press statement, we want to strongly express our utmost displeasure at the President's arrogance and disrespect towards the King and Overlord of Gonjas, His Excellency John Dramani, and by extension, members of the Gonjaland Youth Association.

The President's unfettered taste for the total disrespectful behavior towards the chieftaincy institution is becoming increasingly intolerable.

I'm sure many of you have seen a recent video circulating, showing our President assuming his rehearsed domineering 'Lord of Lords and King of Kings' posture, commanding a traditional chief who was sitting in state to rise and greet him at the funeral ceremony of Ghana's late ambassador to Nigeria, held in the Oti region.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press,

Not long before the incident in the Oti region, the President was observed in an egotistical 'Jack Toronto' stance, directing the then Greater Accra regional minister to forcibly lift a traditional chief from his seat to prostrate in honor of Akufo-Addo.

At the 2024 annual Gonjaland Congress, which concluded on Saturday, April 27, 2024, it was the turn of the Overlord and King of the Gonja State and all of Gonjaland to experience President Akufo-Addo's pomposity and the contentious leadership of the NPP in the Savannah Region, led by Hon. Saeed Muazu (Regional Minister), Hon. Abu Jinapor (Minister of Natural Resources), and Alhaji Kalamonia (Regional Chairman).

Regrettably, Ladies and Gentlemen, the hollow President and the NPP leadership in the Savannah region did not hesitate to extend an overdose of their pomposity, arrogance, disrespect, and distasteful acts of continued disrespect towards traditional leadership and the Yagbonwura.

It is prudent at this juncture to provide a brief background of the events.

Firstly, the President was accorded all courtesies and respect as the Special Guest of Honor at the Yagbonwura’s 1-year anniversary and the 48th GLYA annual Congress, while H.E. John Dramani Mahama was invited as a proud son of the land and Guest of Honor.

Secondly, the program began with the President arriving late when the chairman of the program was delivering his acceptance speech.

Thirdly, after taking his seat, protocol dictated that the President speaks after all principal speakers had addressed the gathering, allowing him to grasp the concerns of the King and the association.

This customary procedure and protocol were disregarded and thrown to the dogs by the President and NPP leadership when the minister of lands and natural resources Hon. Abu Jinapor forcibly seized the microphone from the MCs and handed it to the President to speak first.

At this point, it is apparent from the look on the faces of all here-in-gathered that many are left wondering why President Akuffo-Addo would insist on speaking before the King.

Fourthly, after Abu Jinapor forcefully took the microphone and the President concluded his usual boring and uninspiring speech, the President, accompanied by the NPP leadership in the region, suddenly left the durbar grounds without listening to the concerns of the King.

Press men present, the recent lamentation by the PRO of the GLYA Mr. Habib Muftaw about the misconduct of the minister for lands and natural resources has vindicated our long standing believe that he Abu Jinapor is the architect behind all the confusions and disrespect of his party to our chiefs.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the press,

Intelligence gathered suggests that the President instructed his subordinates to seize the microphone and create an opportunity for him to speak, intending to disrupt the first anniversary of the King and Overlord along with the 48th Gonjaland Youth Association Congress for several reasons:

1. The president had a hint that the king among his speech was going to remind him of some unfulfilled promises he and his drivers mate Bawumia made to his kinsmen some years ago

2. President Akuffo-Addo could not tolerate the fact that H.E. John Mahama personally covered all expenses related to and had on the previous day cut sod for the construction of the initial phase of the reimagined Jakpa Palace, intended to serve as a multifunctional palace befitting the Status of the King of Gonjas.

3. President Akufo-Addo was displeased and angry that the King and Overlord, in adherence to the established traditions and customs of the Jakpa Skins, refused to stand up and prostrate before him.

How shameful could this be!

Let me doff my hat for Jirah for refusing to kowtow to Ghana’s Nebuchadnezzar

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, despite President Akufo-Addo's frustration with the Gonjas and their King for upholding the traditions and customs of the Gonja State, and his aggressive attempts to disrupt the first-year anniversary of the King by storming out of the durbar grounds with his supporters, we are compelled to remind the self-proclaimed "God of Ghana," Akufo-Addo, through this medium, of some of his deceptive acts and unfulfilled promises for which Gonjaland and the Savannah region intend to hold him accountable:

1. On September 23, 2020, the President ceremonially inaugurated the construction of a Regional House of Chiefs. We ask, Mr. Jack Toronto, what progress has been made on this project?

2. What is the current status of the Damongo ghost Waste Plant that he commissioned years ago?

3. What has become of the Damongo ghost Water Project, for which he laid the sod four years ago? The people of Damongo demand answers.

4. The intentional neglect of maintenance on the 147-kilometer Sawla-Damongo-Fufulso road is deeply troubling to the region's inhabitants.

5. Where are the decent jobs, he promised the teeming youth of the Savannah region?

6. Where in Bole township can we locate the 20 kilometers of cocoa roads as captured in your bogus performance tracker?

7. Where is the Nursing School in Sawla, which his government supposedly equipped with a KVIP toilet, according to his performance tracker?

8. What has become of the district factories pledged to us the people of the Savannah Region?

9. We demand the immediate removal of the chanfan machines from Daboya, which were brought there under false pretenses in the name of constructing the Daboya bridge.

10. We call upon Jack Toronto to promptly commission the purportedly 100% completed Salaga District Hospital, as indicated by his performance tracker.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press,

In conclusion, let me affirm that we are privileged to align ourselves with H.E. John Dramani Mahama, a nation-builder of impeccable integrity and track record, a man worthy of trust. He is the man to implement the 24-hour Economy initiative, providing employment opportunities for the region's unemployed youth and the nation as a whole.

THANK YOU!

24-hour economy will help restore Ghana from turbulent times and empower our workforce - Mahama to Ghanaian workers

24-hour economy will help restore Ghana from turbulent times and empower our workforce - Mahama to Ghanaian workers

Ghana's ex-president and leader of the biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress,John Dramani Mahama has said the central element of his vision for Ghana's recovery is the implemention of a 24-hour economy designed to generate sustainable, decent job opportunities and promote growth and prosperity for everyone.

He said the adoption of a 24-hour economic model will diversify the Ghanaian economy and empower the workforce by creating flexible work schedules for workers, enhancing work-life balance, well-being and productivity.

In extending his warmest regards to Ghanaian workers on the occasion of this year's May Day celebration in a Facebook post keenly monitored by blogger Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham, the former president said the time is now to repair and restore Ghana from an enduring period of economic turbulence under the current Nana Addo - Bawumia administration, adding that, he has the needed experience to drive Ghana back on the path of prosperity.

...."today’s celebration is tempered by our country's severe challenges because of poor governance, incompetence, economic mismanagement, and institutionalised corruption under the current administration. Never in our history has a democratically elected government taken a wrecking ball to our economy with such ferocity.

"Drawing from this experience, I am prepared to work with you again to commence the vital repair work our country needs after enduring such turbulence. We have achieved progress before, and I am confident we can do so again," he reiterated.

According to him, the theme for this year's May Day celebration, "Elections 2024: The Role of Workers and Social Partners in Securing Peaceful Elections for National Development," underscores the indispensable role the working class have to play in fostering a peaceful, and democratic process, not only as a duty, but a shared responsibility essential for our nation's stability and prosperity.

In his assertion, the forthcoming elections on December 7 offer a pivotal opportunity to alter our current trajectory and set a new course of action, stressing that,"during my first tenure as president, I steered the affairs of this nation through similar challenging times. We overcame a significant energy crisis, implemented a universal salary structure, spearheaded transformative infrastructural developments, and built a more resilient economy".

The former president called on all Ghanaians to support the transformative vision - the 24-hour economy, which he said promises to revitalize our job market and foster a long-term sustainable development.

He reiterated his call for workers to standup and ensure a peaceful elections in 2024.

"Let's commit to ensuring that our upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections are conducted peacefully and fairly, with a steadfast focus on upholding workers' rights.

Together, we can forge a brighter future for Ghana—a future that secures both your present and addresses the risks posed to your SSNIT pensions by the current government," he said.
