Youth of Damongo clash with registrar of Savannah House of Chiefs over logging and commercial charcoal burning

In the hearts and minds of the people of Savannah Region

(Crucifying the sin,not the sinner)

Our team of dedicated youth who are concerned about the sustainability of our scarce environmental resources intercepted this charcoal vehicle in the videos attached around the Axle Weighing Bridge at Bungalow in Damongo.

The firm youth were still having an engagement with the driver when the "overpowered charcoal dealers" called on one Kapori Abutu, who is the registrar of the Savannah Regional House of chiefs  and part of the alleged secret meeting that gave way for fresh logging and commercial charcoal burning business to commence accross Gonjaland.

As if responding to some kind of millitary command,Kapori arrived at the scene within seconds and instructed the charcoal car driver to leave with the charcoal since he had already retrieved Ghc2000.00 being legal conveyance,I guess!!!

He disclosed that the owners of the land have agreed for the twin evils, thus logging and commercial charcoal burning to continue add infinitum within their soils and that ends the matter...

It became a very heated confrontation between the aggrieved youth and the supposed secretary, but at las, the vehicle left. With an air of bravado the secretary pointed fingers at the youth who were merely acting on a letter he the same person issued banning logging and commercial charcoal burning in Gonjaland. Such drama, I guess!!!

This brings to fresh memory our civil action taken sometime ago.Acting on the authority of the Overlord,we impounded on a charcoal vehicle and wanted to lead it to the police station when words came from the same Kapori instructing that we should let go the vehicle since the ban period had been reviewed at the blind side of the public.

See:https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/Damongo-youth-embark-on-civil-action-544001 as first evidence.

It's sad this impunity is being perpetrated on the soils where the lands and nature resource minister,Abu Jinapor who has declared war on logging and environmental destruction hails from.

What example are we setting to the world? Mr. Minister, beware this goes to your bad record!!!

Elsewhere, excavators were burnt in opposition to environmental destruction, but not on Gonjaland. What is happening on Ndewura Jakpas' soil? Sons and daughters of the current Overlord must not sit aloof and allow the reign of their father to be ruined with tainted history. He may be innocent, but some unscrupulous people want to soil his regime with regrettable history.

The Buipewura who is well reverred must not sit and allow this to happen. History may not be kind to this powerful figures should this wanton destruction of our common environment be allowed to continue.

Kapori should bow down his head in shame. You're supposed to be redirecting the path of the house of chiefs, but not to be pursuing your own parochial interest.

Before you can threaten any youth,go back and withdraw that your letter that criminalizes the twin activities in Gonjaland.

You can't be doing this to yourself all in the name of money! It's a shame!!!!

Well the secretary says,we should keep shut since we are not the owners of the land. Well, we'll keep our peace, but the next time the rain storms rippoff the roofs of buildings, we'll converge at his office for relief packages!

I shall be back!!!!
