Finalisation of Fixed Deposit Account In Aid of Children of Madam Sayeba of blessed memory

Permit me some time and space to come your way once again with some useful final updates on our collective fundraising campaign in aid of Madam Haruna Sayeba of blessed memory.

Please, dedicate sometime and go through item by item and be free to ask any question, seek clarification or contact me with useful suggestions for the future. (With regards! ).

I dully acknowledged Ghc31.00 contribution from Daniel Mahama on 9th February, 2020.God richly bless you.
#A white philanthropist has also been contacted to see how he could assist the children. The response is quite positive and we pray something good comes out of it.

Madam Sayeba passed onto glory on Saturday,January 18,2020, at the Akomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

She died from a condition known as Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis/Stephen Johnsons Syndrome.
(For more explanation, contact the doctors and health practitioners).

Remember,I opened a suggestion box on our various online platforms -WhatsApp and Facebook to collate views from the general public and especially, the cherished donors on what to do with the remaining balance. The collated views pointed to one thing-Setting up a Trust Fund for the children and establishing the elder son in a trade since that has been his desire after dropping out of school.

Following the above,a committee was set up to draw a roadmap for the untilization of the remaining balance for the benefit of the children.

The committee consists of:

Mr.Sufuyanu (family member),Chief ZiblaWura (family member),Madam Rahinatu(elder sister of Madam Sayeba),Mr.Alhassan Braimah (West Gonja Hospital), Mr.Matthew Zaabelle (PAD FM Manager),and Mr.Ananpansah B. Abraham(Lead campaigner/fundraiser).

From my last updates,I disclosed the difficulties we were going through in opening individual accounts for the children due to the fact that only one of them had a birth certificate. The rest were only able to produce their weighing cards which we thought would be accepted as valid documents. But after processing the necessary documents and submitting to the bank (GCB),only the one with the birth certificate went through.

To this end,

Considering the time and resources that would be vested if we mean to acquire birth certificates for the rest of children,we've decided to collapse all into a consolidated account.

Owing to the fact that none of these children is up to 18 years, the account is to be managed on their behalf by two trustees-Madam Iddrisu Rahinatu(senior sister of late Haruna Sayeba) and Iddrius Sufuyanu(family member). (The fixed deposit account with Ghana Commercial Bank can only be accessed after 48 month-four years).

Note: the mother of late Sayeba has taken responsibly of taking care of all the four children.Three of them are currently staying with her at Abingakura  and attending school-One at Presby Primary School and the other two at Damongo KG/Primary.

Now,to the financial aspect:

Balance b/d from Final Accounts = Ghc9,546.00.

(B) On Thursday, 23rd January,2020,at 3:36pm a total amount of Ghc320.00 upon request and approval by the committee was transferred via the Mobile Money Account of Iddrius Sufuyanu to settle the cost of a bus hired to transport family members to Buipe for the three days adua of our beloved sister.

(C)On Saturday,25th January,2020, at 11:53am an amount of Ghc203.00 was transferred through the Mobile Money Account of Iddrius Sufuyanu upon request from the family to support in the performance of the seven(7) days adua of our sister at Abingakura,Damongo.

Subtotal (A+B+C) = Ghc 253.00 + Ghc320.00 + Ghc203.00 = Ghc 776.00.

Balance at hand ( Ghc9,546.00 - Ghc 776.00) =  Ghc8770.00.

Resolutions/Disbursements of (Ghc8770.00):

(1) With the first born who has expressed desire to learn a trade,he has since been enrolled as an apprentice at AU collections,a tailoring shop in Damongo. After finalising the process,Ghc520.00.00 was transferred to Iddrius Sufuyanu to settle the admission fee and cost of entrance form.
We've been given a list of prospectus to buy, including a sewing machine, tape measure, uniform among others.
In all, a total of Ghc1,630.00 including upkeep cost has been alloted to him
We initially enrolled him with a glass fabricating shop after he expressed interest in learning that trade. But he later changed his mind and opted for tailoring.

(2) I earlier on mentioned that aside the first born, the rest of the children are staying with late Sayeba's mother whilst attending school.
The woman is a petty trader and in order to assist her fend for the upkeep of children, the committee resolved to support her with Ghc1,000.00 to invest/grow in her business, in order to properly take care of the basic needs of the children.

(3) Finally,a cash amount of Ghc6,050.00 has been deposited in a fixed deposit account with accounts number 8031220001222 at the Ghana Commercial Bank.Ghc50.00 is the minimum balance/minimum capital requirement for running the account.
The trustees on behalf of the children are Iddrisu Rahinatu and Iddrius Sufuyanu. The money together with the accumulated interest can only be accessed with the consent of the children after 48 months.
Copies of receipt of payment will be made available to the trustees and can be accessed by the general public as well.Kindly contact me in this regard.
Mind you, when the children turn 18 years and are now qualified to own accounts numbers, the money can be transferred into their own account numbers.

You can also contribute to the account/fund.(Let's know if you desire to do so for due acknowledgment).

Note: accumulated Mobile Money withdrawal charges amounted to Ghc90.00 and some pesewas. (You could do the calculation from Ghc9,546.00).

Most kind regards and God richly bless you for your generosity towards this campaign.
May the ever merciful God replenish your effort in thousand folds. Blessed indeed is hand that gives; for its more blessed to give than receive.
And may we continuo to stand by each other in times of difficulties.

Rest in peace dear sister! You fought well .You've United many voices across the length and breath of the globe and increased in us the genuine spirit of compassion for humanity and benevolence.

# UBUNTU ( I am because you are and you are because I am).

...End...
