Yapei - Kusawgu MP set to construct 20 dams to expand access to water and enhance irrigation farming

The Member of Parliament for the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency and Ranking Member of the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, John Abdulai Jinapor has initiated a life-changing project to construct some 20 dams across the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency.

This community improvement project is aimed at expanding access to portable drinking water for the communities and enhance irrigation farming for livelihood empowerment.

The project which has commenced in earnest was announced on the social media handles of close aides to the versatile law maker and copied exclusively to blogger, Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham. 

According to the news release, the Kulbonduli community in the Zorwu Electoral Area of the Central Gonja District was first to benefit from the initiative which is targeted at covering 20 communities within the implemention period.

This reporter, at the time of filing this story can confidently confirm that construction materials were on site and drilling works progressing at a satisfactory pace.

The Former Deputy Power Minister lauded by many for his developmental exploits across the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency and beyond, has over the years touched many lives and implemented several life changing interventions.

His impact which transcends several geographical boundaries position him as a beacon of hope for many young leaders.

Bole - Bamboi MP commends Maulvi Bin Salih for taking principled stance on uncensored political comments by handlers of Dr. Bawumia at this year's Maulid.

The Member of Parliament for the Bole - Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Caucus in Ghana's Parliament, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana (Ori) has joined many well meaning Ghanaians to condemn in no uncertain terms the uncontrolled political comments made by Hon. K.T. Hammond acting on behalf of the Vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at year's Maulid.

He said Dr. Bawumia and his team who attended the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana failed to recognize the solemnity of the occasion and proceeded with political pronouncement to the obvious dismay of many.

In a press statement exclusively copied to Blogger, Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham, the Veteran legislator whilst condemning the poor judgement of Dr. Buwumia's team who hijacked the dais, applauded the Head of the mission, Alhaji Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih for taking the necessary steps in preserving the sanctity of such an important religious event.

"Maulvi Bin Salih displayed proactive leadership by addressing this lapse in judgment, stating that the Ahmadiyya Muslim community completely disavows the statement made by Hon. K.T. Hammond, attributing it to his personal political aspirations," he reiterated.

The MP who is a Member of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament concured with the head of the mission that the mission's aspiration is for Allah to grant Ghana a leader who will restore the nation to its rightful place in the global community, commanding the respect it deserves.

He urged all political actors to endeavor to preserve the sanctity of such important religious events and uphold the integrity and peace of the country always.

Former president and the leader of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has been installed as a 'Chief of Truth and Integrity' by the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bi-kunuto Jewu Soale.

His skin name is 'Keshenteng Wura'.

At a very colorful ceremony to welcome the former president who is a son of the 'soil' to the Jakpa Palace, the Yagbonwura described his visit as a wonderful homecoming, assuring the former president of the support of the entire Gonja Kingdom.

"Our son has come home for our blessings, prayers and support for victory come 7th December, 2024.

When you have a son who is fighting a worthy national cause, you as a father will be more than happy to fully support him, since it is said that: “when a child is climbing a good tree, he needs nothing but a push.” Your Excellency, you have our push. You have our support.

"The entire Gonja Kingdom is behind you as a son. Therefore, do not let us down when given the nod. Leave behind a generational legacy that as a people, we would always be proud of. Our ancestors are with you; the Great Ndewura Jakpa’s warrior’s spirit is with you, as you go round across the length and breadth of the country to seek the people’s mandate again," he said.

The king noted that the 24-hour Economy Policy proposal by John Dramani Mahama when successful may contribute to addressing the problems of under-development, poverty and unemployment, adding that, when given the opportunity, the former president has the experience and ability to overcome the serious challenges our country is facing at this crucial moment in our history.

He sounded a word of caution to the Electoral Commission to remain neutral and work with both sides of the political divides to ensure fairness in the elections.

According to him,the story should never be told that under the two Northern contenders, there was any form of conflict reported anywhere in the country as a result of elections, calling on the police, the National Peace Council and all stakeholders to play their professional roles in ensuring we keep the peace before, during and after the 2024 polls.

As a father, he urged the former president to take keen interest in bridging the gap that exist between the North and South when given the opportunity once again to occupy the seat of presidency.

Salaga South MP empowers dressmakers and hairdressers with sewing machines and hair dryers

The honorable Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah has supported Hairdressers and Dressmakers in her constituency with some sewing machines and hair dryers.

This forms part of ongoing efforts by the only female legislator in the Savannah Region to empower women in the skill acquisition craft/industry in the constituency to stay productive and economically viable.

She presented a total of 30 modern Sewing Machines and 30 Hair Drying Machines to the Salaga Dressmakers and Hairdressers Association for onwards distribution to beneficiaries.

The presentation the legislator noted, was in fulfilment of a promise she made to the associations last year during the MP's  End of Year Inter - Wards Soccer Gala competition, which witnessed both associations playing a football match to climax the competition.

During the tournament, the MP had pledged to support the leadership of both associations with some sewing machines and hair dryers to boost their skill training and vocational training.

In a short address on the sidelines of the presentation, the affable Member of Parliament said the donation was a continuation of a plan that is already in motion aimed at providing support packages to her constituents who want to venture into apprenticeship.

The Member of Parliament made a similar donation of fourty (40) sewing machines to women and mothers of the Lively Minds Programme in Kafaba at the Kafaba No. 2 M/A Primary School.

She expressed confidence that the beneficiaries would put the items donated into good use in order to enhance their self-enginered businesses and boost the overall developmental agenda of the Salaga South Constituency.

The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi  Constituency and Ranking Member of the Trade, Industry and Tourism Committee of Ghana's Parliament, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has empowered the Bamboi MO Community in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency with giant rooms of Canopies and a number of Metallic Plastic Chairs.

This forms part of measures by the legislator to support the local community in the organization of social events and de-escalate the burden the people go through in mobilizing these materials for their social gatherings.

In all, the industrious Member of Parliament donated three giant rooms of Canopies and 50 Metallic Plastic Chairs to augment the developmental efforts of the MO Community.

The MP said the donation was in fulfilment of a pledge he made to the community during his annual end of year engagement with them.

According to him, the overall goal was to ensure that all minority tribes in the constituency get the necessary recognition and inclusion in the politics of the Bole-Bamboi.

The leadership of the MO Community expressed profound gratitude to the legislator for the years of dedication and support, stressing that the donation was timely and big sigh of relief to the entire MO Community.

It can be recalled that some few months ago,the Member of Parliament in the same spirit donated sound systems and drums to the Dagaati and Eve communities in Bamboi.

Together with the Bole District Health Director, he as well supported the Bamboi Polyclinic and the Bole Clinic with over 13 and eight mattresses respectively.

In time past, he has donated motorbikes to CHPS compounds as well as supported many educational and livelihood interventions in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency.

In the usual spirit of bringing the community together in pursuit of development, the honorable Assemblyman for the Greater Canteen Electoral Area, Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham has crowned the year 2023 with the firth (5th) edition of the usual Assemblyman End of Year Gala competition and related activities(Thank You Dinner party).

The grand finale of the Canteen derby held to usher in the New Year saw Central Canteen FC topple Baafira Young Starlets in a 5:4 penalty shootout to lift the 2023 ultimate trophy from defending champions Ayarihene Heroes in a grand style.

The Assemblyman in brief remarks commended all the teams for their zealous participation reiterating the important role sports play in uniting the youth and promoting community development.


He indicated his readiness and commitment to promoting sports in the area as an avenue to unearthing young talents and growing a health community.

According to him, due to election and donor fatigue from the just ended Assembly elections, this year's tournament was meant to be a warm-up to a main league that will to be planned mid of year, expressing gratitude to the Former Damongo MP, hon. Garlus, Lawyer Baba Zankawa and Mr.Asumah Dabo for supporting this year's tournament.

Zongo Young Stars placed third (3rd) with all six(6) participating teams taking home mineral drinks as prizes for the year.

Among other things, the Assemblyman as part of his ongoing 'Thank You Tour,' also hosted the youth to a mammoth Thank You Dinner party held at the Hospital Canteen... 

The dinner party which brought together various youth groups and community folks was aimed at keeping the base energized and providing the youth a common platform to share ideas towards their personal growth and the growth of the community as we usher in a new year - 2024.

The young leader who is also an entertainment enthusiast and former Entertainment Secretary for the Bagabaga College of Education used the occasion to encourage the youth not despair, especially in these trying times, but remain steadfast in pursuit of their dreams for 2024 may just be a year of possibilities.

Using himself as an example, he stressed that to have emerged as the first Assemblyman in record times after the late Madison to win reelection and get the rare mandate to serve a second term was out of shared perseverance, hardwork and believe in thyself casting his mind back to when he started pursuing the journey of service and the challenges he encounted.


He used the two platforms to wish all electorates a Merry Christmas and a productive 2024.

Canteen Assemblyman installs Led street lights, repairs dysfunctional one's

As part of effort to improve the security and poor lightening situation in some notable areas of the Canteen community at night, the Assemblyman for the Canteen Electoral Area in West Gonja Municipal, Ananpansah Bartholomew Abraham, has installed new Led street lamps across the electoral area.


Alongside the installation of the new LED Street Lights, the Assemblyman also successfully carried out repair works on a number of dysfunctional street lights in the area.

In all, ten(10) new LED streets were installed and about twelve (12) dysfunctional successfully repaired so far.

The exercise is being carried out across notable areas in the electoral area, including Agric Settlement, Brigade Line, St. Anne's Residential Area, Abakura area and Canteen township with the hope of expansion to cover the other communities.

The repair works the Assemblyman noted, is an ongoing process and the target at the end of the day is to fix not less than 30 dysfunctional street lights in the electoral area.

In brief remarks, the Assemblyman said the exercise was his own small way of augmenting the effort of the Municipal Assembly to improve the security situation in the area and provide solace to school going children who rely on the street lights for their night group studies.

It was his hope that an improved street lightening system will keep people safe to conduct their economic and social activities at night, curb reptiles attack and drastically reduce theft cases in the electoral area.

He said it took him more than six months to gather the resources and materials for the installation/repair exercise, pledging to maintain the momentum into the future.

The passionate Assemblyman used the opportunity to call on the Municipal Assembly to work on dysfunctional street lights along the principal streets of the Municipality in order to improve the security situation in the town and keep residents secured to go about their night activities.

Residents of the beneficiary communities thanked the Assemblyman for the kind gesture, urging him to keep up the good work he was doing for the Canteen Electoral Area at large.
